Bulgogi

Traditional bulgogi is made of beefy ribs. It is the most delicious barbeque as they say. This Korean Recipe is very popular not only in Korea but also to the world.

Make sure you oil the rack well to prevent sticking and burning.

Marinade (per pound beef tenderloin):
5 T Korean soy sauce (I use Kikkoman)
5 t Sugar
2 T Dry sherry / Rice wine (optional)
4 cloves Garlic, minced
2 stalks Green onions, finely chopped
1 T Sesame oil
1 T Toasted sesame seeds
1/2 t Ground black pepper
1/4 t Korean red pepper flakes (optional)

Prepare the marinade in a large glass bowl, making sure the sugar is completely dissolved.
Thinly slice the beef (Partially freezing the beef will make slicing easier), transfer it to the marinating bowl, and mix well.
Let the beef marinate for 30 min in the fridge.

Cook on a grill / in a non-stick skillet until the beef is almost dry / on a well-oiled broiler rack.

Serve on steamed rice, or wrap in flour tortillas or Iceburg lettuce leaves.

Variations: substitute beef with chicken breast strips or pork tenderloin slices.
